Promoting conversations that empower teens to make healthy choices about relationships and sexuality. Teenaged was created to help teens to make responsible decisions that will keep them safe and informed by providing them with accurate and age-appropriate sex education that is tailored to teach to the whole person. This class is designed to help teens to understand:

• Relationships
• How to confidently get out of awkward or uncomfortable situations
• Social media
• Differences between how girls and boys view sexuality and feelings
• Sex/sexuality
• Sexual relationships
• Abstinence
• Teen pregnancy
• Respect in relationships
• Consent
• Contraceptives

The goal of this education is to help teens reduce their risk of sexually transmitted diseases and unintended pregnancy if they choose to engage in a sexual relationship. Teens will be given information/recommendations on the value of abstinence while also preparing them for when they do choose to engage in sexual activity so they will have the tools they need to be safe and responsible. As with all courses taught by The Rites of Passage, Teenaged encourages family communication about sexuality between parent and child. Part of this class is taught with parents present and part is taught to the teen without parents. This will be a mixed class for boys AND girls. Open and honest discussion is encouraged.

This class is medically accurate and does not promote religion or opinions. Lessons include all sexual orientations and gender identities and provide teens with the tools to make informed decisions and build healthy relationships.*At least one tween and one parent/caregiver must be present to participate. This class will be presented using Zoom and it is recommended to login using a computer or laptop device that has a camera and keyboard, which will allow you to be interactively involved with the group. You only need to purchase one ticket for your family, not a separate ticket for each family member that is joining.

Ages 13-16 years, one 3 hour class, online – 2 hours with parent, 1 hour without parent

*There is a two week prior to class cancellation policy for all registrations. If you must change your plans within two weeks of scheduled start date, you may use your credit towards another class or another child at a time that works with your schedule.
