Founder / Lead Educator

Hi there! I'm Jodi Kaye, and I am the creator and founder of The Rites of Passage. I am an Arizona native and the mother of three amazing daughters. I have been a Registered Nurse for over 20 years.

My background. . .

My nursing career has primarily focused on women and children’s health issues. I spent 15 years in the specialty of Labor and Delivery and Perinatal Bereavement Counseling. I hold a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree and I have obtained National Certification in Obstetric Nursing. Motherhood and my career have led to a love and appreciation for teaching, parenting, and addressing children’s issues.

How it all began. . .

I created The Rites of Passage as a result of my love for teaching in nursing, and also because I'm a mom to three girls. I knew I needed to find a healthy and fun way to discuss these stages with my girls so they could grow up to be happy and confident in all aspects of their lives. Once I figured out how to openly talk to my girls about puberty and sexuality, I realized that I could also help others contribute to the growth and education of their children, and have been doing so since early 2013. I have found that the best way to accomplish this is by developing and delivering high quality educational workshops meant to encourage and strengthen the parent-child relationship and communication methods.

Featured in. . .

I have been a resident contributor for North Scottsdale Pulse magazine. I have also been featured in Raising Arizona Kids Magazine as well as on Arizona Midday Channel 3 and Sonoran Living Live ABC15. In 2016, I was honored to be a speaker at The Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health (SASH) conference in Austin, TX. I have enjoyed sharing speaking engagements at large corporations, educating mothers and daughters through the National Charity League, and in private homes throughout my teaching career.

Lindsay Maslick

Educator

Lindsay Maslick was born in Santa Rosa, California and is the mother of twin daughters. She graduated from ASU with a degree in business and communications and later got her Master's in Education.

Lindsay has eight years of teaching experience. She has taught 6th grade, 2nd grade and 3rd grade. She enjoys watching her students gain a love of learning and inspiring them!

Joining The Rites of Passage team has been a great opportunity for Lindsay because she feels that the classes are an amazing learning experience for both mother/daughter and father/son. The classes allow the topic of puberty to be discussed openly and encourage communication between parent and child. She thinks it's very rewarding to see the level of comfort these classes bring to a topic that at times can be difficult.
